Gun of the week: FNX45 Tactical

The FNX 45 tactical truly is a tactical handgun. This is a no holds barred, all business handgun.

First off let's talk about one of the coolest things about the gun. Which is 15 rounds of .45 ACP. That's awesome. I have listed to some commentators claim that this solves the debate between 9 mm higher capacity side arms and lower capacity 45 caliber sidearms. Because now you can have the stopping power of the .45 and the capacity of a 9 mm. While I seriously doubt that settles any kind of debate it is pretty cool.  15 +1 rounds of .45 ACP is some serious power, no two ways about it.

Next up it comes with a threaded barrel as part of the package. So go ahead and screw that silencer on there. It belongs there. The gun even comes with raised sites so that I can easily see over the can.

It comes pre-drilled for a RMR. It cries out for you to attach that cool looking red dot sight to the top of this thing.

The safety doubles as a decocker and has three positions.  Safe (up), off (down) and decocker (all the way down).  This unique design gives you the ability to carry the gun "cocked and locked" for those you who favor the more traditional single action carry style.  As far as I know this is the only DA/SA handgun on the market that can do this.

While I do not believe the pistol is the best suited weapon for home defense, this gun would be a perfect home defense pistol.  It is suited to allow you to add all the needed accessories to make it a good home defense gun, including a silencer to protect your ears.

While the gun seems spendy, it looks worth it.
